I just popped over here from a link at "Goblins: Life through their Eyes", and was surprised to find a Planescape themed webcomic. I'm the head DM of a NWN online PW, "Faces of NWSigil"...as such, I'm a bit of a massive Planescape nerd. I've posted the address to your comic in our forums, so our other users can check it out. I'm liking the comic so far (moreso when they're colored ), so I hope you keep up the good work. Cheers, - Grimrider (CG/Gray Elf/F12/Planar/Free League)

Hey thanks! The forums haven't exactly been activity central, but maybe that'll start to change! Where are your forums located?

nwn.bioware.com/guilds_registry/viewforum.html?forum=10372&gid=6195It's a bit of a clunky URL, but it's a NWN Guild forum, so it's the best we can manage. You have to be a member to post on 'em, but if you ever feel like you want to, just apply and we'll put it through. Anyway, liking the update. I read them all from the beginning, and I'm enjoying the later colored comics a lot. Re-coloring the old black and white page really does a lot for them.

I figured I would just post in this one rather than create an all new thread with the same basic purpose. I really enjoyed your comic. Read through the whole thing, start to finish in one sitting. It reminds me somewhat of OOTS. I used to run my own Planescape campaign, which didn't really go well, as it was online and I had numerous troubles with various things like Sigil being such a huge place that it was hard to deal with wandering PCs. I also had trouble with the fact that some players had some setting info and others had none and those who did have setting info didn't necessarily have stuff that matched up with what I was using. In any case, it was something of a snafu. Still, Planescape remains one of my favorite settings and it is nice to see it living on in a comic form. I am also particularly fond of beholders, which makes it all the more interesting. Though... your version of Jergal is very different than the one I've read about.

Oh, and I particularly liked Timmy. He reminded me somewhat of a player I used to have/sort of still have(my game is on hiatus) who always created the same basic character, just giving him a new name and history. The build was always identical.

Well, this version of Jergal is derived a bit from this and from a storyline that was developed in a Neverwinter Nights persistent world (the Dalelands) with my friends. I'm eventually going to have to do some flash-backing or something in the story to explain it all, but the villains all have quite a bit of backstory. Yeah, and OotS... he just had to come up with that snarl thing... but the Nothing is different, really! And fortunately, I did mine first Yeah, about Tommy... did you have the same player we did? We were always chiding him about it, too, but it makes for great amusement now, lol. Glad you're enjoying the comic!

You know, I think the villains have about 5 times as much back story as all the other characters combined... Except Vec, bet he lives in the moment .

Well, as for Jergal, I have read the avatar trilogy, which Jergal is involved in, particularly in "The prince of Lies" and "The Crucible" in which Jergal is... well here is a link. Hey, this comic is mentioned in it. Anyway, neither evil nor malicious in the canon stuff. One of my favorite FR deities really. Anyhow... The player I am referring to was something of a powergamer who had worked out pretty much the most dangerous sort of fighter he could come up with, which was, in this case a dex based defensive fighter type. So, I guess he sort of fell in love with the build, and he is also something of a history nut. His first character was a pseudo Norman knight and the follow up one was... well, essentially the same thing, except there was more of a germanic spin on it and against my better judgement I allowed him to add on his own culture for it. In any case, I have been closely re-examining my old game and patching up all the holes before I start again. ----------- I am not sure how much planescape material you have, but I have a bunch of monstrous compendiums and some other materials if you are at all interested. Oh, and if you do more beholder stuff, I also have "I tyrant" which is a D&D add on for well, everything you ever wanted to know and more about beholders.

I believe he's canonically Lawful Neutral, but he's had a lot of time to stew around and fester and such. Growing evil over time, as it were. I think mostly it was his title "Lord of the End of Everything" that just made him sound awesome And, yes, lol, Kaniran is most likely right. We all played our villains so much on the Dalelands that their backstories are quite ridiculously more detailed than the main heroes. But I am working on correcting that! (at least to a point, lol)

Hey, fellas, what's the chant?
I found this comic through Goblins, I believe, another fine D&D related comic. I have to say, so far I like it. Your comic, I mean. Although I like Goblins, too.
Anyway, I'm somewhat new to Planescape myself. I have a few novels, the MM, and the Planewalker's Handbook, but I've also done some research online. It's an interesting setting, although I admit I'm more of a Spelljammer fan myself.
Nevertheless, I'm enjoying the comic and look forward to see what happens next.

Welcome to the forum! Join the throng... er, mob, um, well, there's a few of us, anyway. So tell your friends! Spelljammer is an interesting setting... though most of my knowledge of it comes from that big site they have on the ol' Internet, with all the rules and such. Can't say much for the science of it, lol, but still fun. You'll probably see elements of Spelljammer in the comic at some point, though I'm aiming for a somewhat more realistic view of the universe. That is, sans phlogiston and crystal spheres. But that doesn't mean space travel doesn't exist... I'm glad you're enjoying the comic!
