Gotta love the praise Milny is most definitely a halfling, though I may have been influenced by Dragonlance a bit. Actually, I first sort of invented her character when I was playing Final Fantasy 6 on an emulator and Milny was the name I gave the talkative little girl character. I'd also played a Feldo Boldoffin and his brother, Kelan Boldoffin in PnP campaigns, so, when NWN rolled around, I created Milny on the Dalelands multiplayer server. She was a gas to play, because I'd go on and on about some story I'd make up off the top of my head in the middle of fighting hordes of monsters, and drive my buddies crazy. Good times

Yeesh... I think my computer would belch black smoke and explode if I tried running a game like that.
Looks interesting though.
Anyhow, read the latest. Not a whole lot to say really, as it seems to be mostly setting us up for the next one, which I look forward to as always.

Hmm, I think you must be referring to Relm Arrowny. Of all the FFs, I think 6 was my favorite, so yes, I've memorized all their names.
But anyway, I hope to see more of Milny. I mean...wait, that came out wrong. What I meant to say was, I hope more of her is revealed...no...gah! Now I'm starting to sound like DOM.
(Mmm....halfling curves...I mean, d'oh!)

Heh, the sequel is coming out in a month or two... and it looks a helluva lot better! Does have pretty steep system requirements, though. I will mention that the cool thing about the Neverwinter Nights series is that you can create your own campaign worlds and modify most of the rules via built-in modifiers called hakpacks and the Neverwinter Nights toolset. Also, happily, since all the servers are private, it's free to play. On the prologue, I'm not sure yet how many episodes it's going to run, but it will probably be at least five. Now I just have to steel myself and make the next one without another of my trademark delays... Hmm, I think you must be referring to Relm Arrowny. I renamed everybody, so I could never remember their "real" names. Like the soldier girl I called "Ripley" (like in Aliens) And it's okay, man. You're not the only one who'd like to see more of Milny. Er, I mean... oh nevermind

I hope Tchick gets a backstory strip. As you may have inferred, I have something of a soft spot for beholders.

Well, he had the one flashback panel thus far, but yeah, I plan to do more backstory for him. I like doing characters like him and Fred, who are basically completely unlike anything you might expect.

Oh, hey, Swiftbow. There was something about the comment I wanted to mention, but just now remembered it. On episode 57, there is no link to the 'next' episode. So I had to manually type in the URL for episode 58. It's not a big deal, but I thought I would point it out.

Ack, good catch. I'd changed it locally but failed to write the new file to the server. Thanks!

Tommy downed a chimera in three hits? He must be min-maxed out the wazoo. I wonder if that's how Tommy 1 died? He's the only unaccounted one so far.
Tommy 2 drowned by trying to cross a river in heavy armor.
Tommy 3 was killed by what looked like a displacer beast when he used an evil sword.
Tommy 4 was eaten by a mimic.
Tommy 5 was turned into a pin cushion by a bugbear archer.
Tommy 6 was backstabbed by Vec.
Tommy 7 was killed in the Blood War.
The guy has more lives than a Marvel superhero, eh?
Anyway, looking forward to the rest of the prologue!

The chimera thing is sort of an in-joke... our DM way back when was running the campaign in which some of these characters were involved. But the guy who normally played the various Tommies (who, incidentally, is named Tommy) couldn't make it. So the guy who plays Gerand took over and suddenly had some kind of dice god luck, because he kept rolling crits. Needless to say, the chimera that was supposed to give us major trouble... well, it didn't. Then we met a mimic and the story goes on...
So, he wasn't min-maxed so much as he just got really lucky, lol.

Anyway, looking forward to the rest of the prologue! The Tommy phenomenon stems from our tabletop games, wherein the namesake of our favorite hero(es?) would, upon the death of his character, proceed to make another one exactly like it. That is, a human fighter wielding a long sword. That was his only weapon, too... when orcs ambushed us from across a river and the rest of us pulled out bows and slings, he had to stand there and shout taunts or something. Anyway, after several incarnations with various odd names, the guy playing Gerand started just calling them "Tommies" and assigned them a number. It caught on pretty quick, and was the subject of much mirth around the table. What exactly causes this strange resurrection in the comic is unexplained...

And the prologue continues.
Hey, Swift, I was just wondering...is this creation story you're telling one you made up or did it come from somewhere? Just curious.

I made it up! Though, of course, I'm influenced somewhat by other creation stories we all know. This one is already being compared to the Bible by my dad, though it's going to diverge pretty quickly. What do you think so far?

Looks good so far. I'm a student and fan of mythology, so I always enjoy coming up with creation stories. They're fun because you can make them as wild and crazy as you like. For instance, one of the creation stories for my home-brewed world is that five mystical animals made the world (an eagle, mole, rabbit, wolf, and dolphin). At one point, the rabbit spooked the mole by sneaking up on him. The mole was so surprised, his eyes popped out of his head and became stuck in the heavens, becoming the twin moons. No matter how farfetched they are, there are always real world mythologies with an even stranger story.
I could swear I once heard a creation myth about the world being a huge salt lick, and a massive cosmic cow licking it until it formed the earth.
